The word “Christian” has become quite the loaded term… to say the least!

In a world dominated by white Christian nationalism, we at Metro are asking ourselves, “In a world where Christianity has been co-opted by those seeking power and furthering oppression, what does it truly mean to be Christian?”

This Lent, we return to the roots of the Gospel message: a call to joyful service of one another, a resistance of authority, and a love that transcends all.

This Sunday is Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. Pastor Jordan will help us enter into this sacred time with a message on how “The Good News Is… Inspiring Us to Act”. Jesus’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem is more than just a fun Bible story, but a depiction of the joy that comes with resisting empire. Palm Sunday was a protest march.
